It all began in November 2024 & just now it’s ready to Receive some custom cast metal pillars as legs.

 

It’s taken 6 separate resin pours – Oakfield clear deep pour – clarity cast – resin next

 

Days & days of sanding & sculpting between pours & to cut back enough for ebonizing to take – a process that turns tannins in the timber grey-black.

 

Yet still we needed to add some colour from our favourite WhittleWaxes evolution range to even out the look.

 

Getting the right texture was a tedious act between the smooth resin filled character and bringing up the feel of the woodgrain.

 

Till now I’ve been a purist about keeping the finish authentic to the species & character of the tree.
