In-Home Design Discovery

We begin with an onsite consultation to brainstorm and take precise measurements. We then use this information to develop a draft of ideas, which forms the basis for a detailed design and scope of work from which an estimate can be generated. Travel charges may apply for distances beyond 50 km from Chelsea, Victoria, Australia.

Machining Wood Services

As the experts we possess the knowhow and expertise to operate advanced machinery. Of course this comes at a cost. The general rate for this is $125 per hour, with some machinery and tasks incurring additional setup costs

Finishing Session

Strong Creations offers clients the opportunity to finish their own project. We will give you some guidance & tool/technique tips, before leaving you to do the magic. The price is set at $30 per hour and includes the use of sanding equipment. Consumables incur an additional cost which is dependent on the product.

Natural Edge Slab Finishing

We offer natural edge slab finishing for Mountain Ash and Messmate, starting at $660 per m². Our service includes sanding, adhesives, and plant-based oil finishes for pre-flattened slabs, completed within 3-7 workdays. Onsite finishing may incur additional costs, and slabs with cracks or decay may require extra resin, assessed during initial work.

Stablisation of Large Solid Timber Slabs

We supply and install heavy-duty 50x20x4mm "C" channels at $205 per unit, including routing, pre-drilling, and securing with M8 bolts. Additional adhesive or epoxy may be used for unstable grain. The number of channels depends on the slab’s unique characteristics and support, as each piece requires a tailored approach.

Sculpting Natural Edge or Other Free Form Carving

We carefully shape each piece, respecting its natural curves, using power and hand tools to reveal its unique character. Our goal is to preserve the organic form, removing only what’s necessary to maintain the authenticity of the grain. This meticulous process is priced at $175 per hour.

Casting or Deep Pour Resin

We offer casting or deep pour resin services at $185 per litre, including formwork, consumable mixing equipment, vacuum chamber management, additional sandpaper, waste management, and labor. The resin can be clear or translucent smoke, ensuring a quality finish with attention to detail.

New Service For Levelling Up Your DIY Table

We provide workshop space with access to professional tools under the guidance of an experienced mentor.

  1. You buy the slab
  2. Book you spot in the workshop at a convenient time
  3. Choose the method of preparation prior to the finishing process ie. resin, wood putty, water based varnish etc.
  4. Dig into any pre flattening work which could include cleaning out grub holes and heavy fillers.
  5. Post flattening stabilisation, including “c” route & install, and bow ties
